Todoist for Apple Watch gives you full control of Todoist right from your watch. You can add new tasks, check and complete your tasks, set custom complications and more.
Getting started
First off, install Todoist on your watch:
- Make sure that Todoist is installed on your phone.
- Open the Watch app on your iOS device.
- In the My Watch Tab, scroll down until you see Available Apps.
- Tap Install.
Adding a task
Add new tasks via your watch:
- Open the Todoist app on your watch.
- Scroll up and select Add task.
- You can now add a task either by using the keyboard to enter a task title, or by tapping the microphone icon in the bottom-right corner and speaking your task title. A menu will then appear where you can choose the project.
- Tap OK in the top-right corner.
Your watch will recognize dates too, so you can say things like today, next Saturday or May 31.
Scheduling or rescheduling a task
Add a due date or change the existing due date of a task:
- Open the Todoist app on your watch.
- Choose the view where the task is located.
- Tap the task you’d like to reschedule.
- Tap the calendar icon in the top-right corner.
- Select one of the preset dates or dictate it using Siri.
- Go back to one of your views.
Completing a task
Complete a task on your watch with a tap:
- Open the Todoist app on your watch.
- Open the view containing the task you want to complete.
- Tap the circle next to the task you’d like to complete.
Use Todoist complications on your watch face
Stay updated with Todoist at a glance by using any of these watch complications:
- Modular Small shows the completed percentage of today's tasks.
- Modular Large shows the next task and the completed percentage of today's tasks.
- Utilitarian Small shows the completed percentage of today's tasks.
- Utilitarian Small Flat shows how many tasks are due today and overdue.
- Utilitarian Large shows the next task.
- Circular Small shows how many tasks are due today and overdue.
- Graphic Rectangular shows the next task and how many tasks are due today and overdue.
- Graphic Circular shows the completed percentage of today's tasks.
- Graphic Bezel shows the completed percentage of today's tasks.
- Graphic Corner shows the completed percentage of today's tasks.

Please try the following steps:
- Delete Todoist on your Apple Watch.
- Log out of Todoist and back in on your phone.
- Restart your phone.
- Reinstall Todoist on your Watch.
No, unfortunately not. Currently, our watchOS app requires that the Apple Watch is in range of the iPhone in order to be able to update information and create/complete tasks.
If you have Mobile notifications enabled in your Reminders settings, and your iPhone is locked or asleep, you'll get notifications on your Apple Watch, unless your Apple Watch is locked with your passcode.
